Anna-lysing Corruption

Its true that today we lack laws that effectively deal with corruption and that the reward of being corrupt far out weighs the risks. But the lack of a harsh law or stricter controls and measures cannot be attributed to the rampant corruption in our society. The people who are corrupt are ordinary people like you and me. People find it easy to be corrupt when their conscience fails! When they fully know they are compromising on their values and yet do something that will benefit them it points to a weak value system in us. Hence the root cause for corruption is the weak foundation of a good value system

Imagine if people like Kalmadi, Raja, Sheela, Yeddy, Reddy gang and a host of others including those those who cheated the martyrs and their families of the their money and land had strong well founded value system - would we have seen them compromising the nations wealth and resources to benefit themselves and their families? To rid ourselves of corruption, core values such as Sharing, caring, humility, Integrity, honesty, fearlessness, truth and respect should be woven into every Indian's genes. To achieve this, we need to build these core values into every aspect of our lives - that includes education, jobs and services. These values are nothing new to Indians. India is a land of diverse religions, all religions preach the same values and hence going back to laying a strong foundation for these values in our minds and hearts will not be very difficult. The foundation for a corruption free India lies within each of us. The core values - its seeds and peace and prosperity - its fruits
